Wallace Matthews
Wallace Matthews was born to a California rancher in August, 1914. He attended Chico State College where he played football and thereafter acted in movies in Hollywood for two years.
During World War I, at age 17 Tommy Hitchcock joined the Lafayette Escadrille flying corps in France. He was shot down and captured by the Germans but escaped his captors by jumping out of a train.
In 1942, Joe Joiner enlisted in the Army Air Corp and graduated from flying school as a 2nd Lieutenant in December, 1943.
Mark was a four year member of the U.S. Navy Tailhook Legacy Flight Demonstration Team.
